What You Need to Know
What is Connection, Cooperation & Control™?
CCC was inspired by clients and dogs who had taken multiple training classes with good results as long as the dog was kept under command or certain conditions, but quickly began to unravel when the dog was given the option to choose what happens next.
CCC was created to help people and dogs develop communication, connection and relationship for improved cooperation at home and when out and about. CCC is designed to help puppies and dogs of all ages, including fearful and reactive dogs, adolescents in need of better self-control, and those involved in performance events and competitions. Firmly grounded on the principles of Suzanne Clothier’s Relationship Centered Training™, CCC uses a food puzzle based reward system to provide extra incentive to the dog and system that’s easy to take on the road.
CCC’s instructional integrity blends operant conditioning, observation and practical application of RCT strategies into a fun, force free approach that builds confidence and trust in both the dog and the handler.
Mission of the Instructor’s Program
The mission of the CCC Instructor Program is to provide professional trainers with the frame work to deliver the benefits of CCC to clients and their dogs while gaining practical and hands-on experience through observation, application and listening to the dog.
CCC is committed to accepting who the dog is, putting the dog first, setting up solid, positive training experiences for the dog and handler, and providing a fun stress-free environment in which all can learn.
What Certification Means
The CCC Instructor Certification Program was designed to maintain the integrity of the CCC learning principles and their process as designed and set forth by the founders, including the motivational needs of both the dog and handler, and offering a positive training experience that focuses on rewarding volitional behavior. Instructors will learn CCC principles and techniques in two ways: 1) through participation in workshops and classes instructed by the founders; and 2) application of the concepts in classes. CCC Instructors shall demonstrate proficiency through video and journal submissions, evaluations from their students, and a written exam.
The Benefits of Certification
Certification will provide the instructor with permission to use the CCC brand, to teach CCC, and to use CCC products and materials as well as RCT materials related to CCC. Certified instructors receive access to the online CCC instructor community, online support from the founders as needed, notification of continuing education opportunities, and the option to advance within the program and host seminars for additional income. CCC certified instructors will have access to the CCC logo for promotion of classes, and will be added to the instructor listing on the CCC website. As CCC continues to grow and develop certified instructors will be provided with updates as necessary, and additions to the training manual.
