ACI: Using Rehearsal in the Classroom

One of the strategies the CCC program uses to help you and your students be successful is rehearsal. Practicing a skill before actually working with the dog helps the handler get it right when then teaching the dog the skill. You'll find rehearsal built in directly on your lesson cards. Here's a video that shows the treat delivery skill described on the Week 1 Auto Check-In Part 1 lesson card.

You'd be surprised how difficult delivering more than one treat can be for a handler! Take the time to rehearse delivering 10-12 treats with your students before they use it with the Auto Check-In to be sure they understand that it's not one treat per check-in.
