CCC Level 1

Course Length:  You have 60 days to complete the six week course.


Course Objectives:

• Your dog will delight in learning to solve two puzzles with you.
• Your dog will be eager to continue each training session through an endless variety of problem solving with puzzles as you implement CCC's unique puzzle reward system and how to incorporate it in your training.
• Your dog will learn that connecting and cooperating with you has value that matters to him, even when you don't have treats in your pocket.
• Your dog will start learning to balance his arousal in a way that keeps him thoughtful, productive and aware of you.
• You will improve your ability to read shifts in your dog’s arousal and make adjustments to keep him thoughtful, productive and compliant
• You will discover how your body language and intent influences the dog’s ability to work with you
• You and your dog will learn the value of voluntary eye contact, connection, cooperation and explicit permission.
• You will develop a humane, dog-friendly technique that insists your dog come along with you to keep him out of trouble.
• You and your dog will begin developing loose leash walking skills.
• You will teach your dog a simple relaxation technique that helps him find balance, even in new locations  
• You will learn how to keep your dog connected as he moves through doorways and gates.

CCC Level 2

Course Length:  You have 60 days to complete the six week course.
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of CCC Level 1

Course Objectives:

• Your dog will delight in learning a new food puzzle with you.
• Your dog will continue his eagerness to work with you using CCC’s puzzle reward system
• You will learn to sustain your awareness of your dog's shifts in arousal and adjust as needed to keep your dog thoughtful and compliant.
• You and your dog will practice balancing his arousal in new ways to keep him thoughtful, productive and aware of you.
• You will discover how to use visual, auditor and olfactory distractions productively while keeping your dog balanced and connected to you.
• You and your dog will begin developing the ability to work through visual, auditory and olfactory distractions and sustaining connection and awareness of you while walking on a loose leash.
• You will lengthen the duration of connection while walking on a loose leash.
• You will learn how to fade the puzzles and still keep the dog engaged in new locations
• You and your dog will learn a fun hunting game you can play with your dog to engage him when he's got other ideas

• Your dog will continue practice balancing his arousal in new ways to keep him thoughtful, productive and aware of you
• You and your dog will continue practice sustaining connection and awareness of you on a loose leash with visual, auditory and olfactory distractions
• You will continue increasing duration in connection and awareness to keep your dog thoughtful and compliant.
• You will learn how to use social distractions productively while keeping your dog balanced and connected to you.
• Your and your dog will begin developing the ability to work through social distractions, sustaining connection and awareness of you while walking on a loose leash
• Your dog will discover that balancing his attention and impulses has value, even when there are no puzzles.
• You will learn how to keep the dog engaged in new locations.
• You will learn how to use distractions as rewards.
